New Stuff!
Okay, so. I totally feel bad about abandoning this, but deviantart is more of a place for a gallery of completed pieces. I'm not really completing many pieces right now, mostly because my tablet has died and I don't really have the patience to work with traditional media. :/ So, I'm not really updating this with work at the moment -- and even if I were, it would all be going into my scrapbook and not alerting anyone anyway. So sigh.
If you really want to watch what's going on with me art-wise, watch my tumblr. Whether you follow me or stop in every so often, I definitely have no regrets about posting sketches there. That is also where I've been logging a very long and on-going story between two RP characters that my boyfriend, Andrei, and I have. More details about that below.
Unrelated Stuff!
I'm kind of totally tipsy on eggnog and homemade Bailey's right now. Andrei and I have a habit of drinking tea before bed, while we RP, but tonight we're drinking alcohol. It should make RP REALLY interesting, and I'm totally prepared to retcon the shit out of whatever we end up doing tonight lol. Totally haven't planned or written ANYTHING. Which is unlike me. I've had two days to daydream about our characters, and I haven't come up with something exciting to do yet haha. All the excitement has been happening over the past two weeks.
Yeah, can't think of anything else to put here. *takes another swig of eggnog*
Legends of Krynn
I'm going to rant about this in my journals for a long time. This game is amazing. It takes a lot of getting used to, because its unlike the games now that give you everything you need to know in fancy graphics... Legends of Krynn is a MUD. MUD stands for Multi-User Dungeon, and the entire game is text-based. That means, every room you enter is described to you via text instead of you seeing what is around you via graphics. It's really like reading a book that you can interact with. I've been having SO much fun with it.
It does have a leveling mechanic, and you do have to level to 100, which is very tedious. I've been playing since October 31, and I'm only 57. However, the roleplay is amazing. Andrei was the one to get me into the game, because his character is just... Mm. Darkahn just inspires the shit out of me. Typical tragic story (because without one of those, where is character struggle and development?), but just so many facets to his personality. Andrei has built him very well.
The game is also set up so that when more people play and ally their characters to certain causes and gods, all-out war can occur. The game is set in the universe of Dragonlance, so there are 21 gods and goddesses that control different aspects of the world. These gods and goddesses watch over and guide certain groups -- for example, Chemosh is the god of Death, and he oversees the Undead. So, if your character is aligned evil and offered undeath, you become undead and serve Chemosh. Chislev is the goddess of Nature, and she oversees the Foresters. If your character is aligned neutral and loves nature, you can join the Foresters and protect the forests. If your character is a mage or spellcaster of any sort, you can choose to be a part of the Conclave, which supports all three alignments and is overseen by Solinari, Lunitari, and Nuitari; the White Moon of White or "good" magic, the Red Moon of Red or "neutral" magic, and the Black Moon of Black or "evil" magic; respectively. Alternatively, your mage can be an outcast and serve Takhisis as a Knight of the Thorn. The choices are nearly endless! Plus, there are 19 races and 16 classes to choose from.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling about it. If you go to my tumblr, that's most of what you'll see. And, as I get better with my artwork, I'll be illustrating scenes that I see rather clearly. Not just sketching and doodling them, but actually painting them. So yeah. Be warned.
Coherent drunk journal ftw.
How was your weekend?
My weekend was wonderful... Spent time with an old friend from high school and his gf, and I wrote so much!! @-@ I didn't draw as much as I wanted tho. :/
You've got a wonderful gallery yourself, I really like your style, particularly the semi-realistic style you've got going on for faces. Keep it up!
